Further to the press release of 27 February 2017 on the RMS St Helena, SHG would like to advise the public of the following developments:
On her current journey to Cape Town, the RMS is now experiencing some minor problems with her Starboard propeller. As a precautionary measure and to avoid any damage to the Starboard engine and shaft, the Starboard engine has been stopped and the vessel is travelling to Cape Town on the Port engine only.
In light of this, passengers have been informed that the RMS’ arrival in Cape Town will be delayed by approximately 24 hours – now arriving on the morning of 4 March 2017.
It is likely that the RMS’ departure from Cape Town will also be affected as repairs are carried out on the propeller.
The public will be updated on further developments and a revised forward schedule will follow in due course.
